Michelin-recommendation and top marks for Lauterbach’s newest place.

Lumskebugten har ligget ved Toldboden siden 1854 og i mange år gik sømænd og Lumskebugten has resided at Toldboden siden 1854 and in many years sailors went ashore, visiting the old joint. Fastforward many years later to today, Lumskebugten is in new command by Erwin Lauterbach, who safely steers towards a delicious and skillful dining experience.

It’s so good that the Michelin Guide for years now have recommended Lumskebugten, and Politiken’s food critic Erik Barfoed rewards Lumskebugten with 5 out of 6 hearts, saying that “…it’s not often that you get to dine at a chef who manages to present a whole life’s worth of experience in such a straightforward, unpretentious and composed meal.” He adds, “…the food is so Lautherbachesque as anything can be, and it spreads to your body as pure wellbeing. Pervasive flavor is the keyword here.”

Lauterbach is also the man behind the legendary restaurant Saison. For more than 30 years Lauterbach has been the setting the trend for Danish cuisine - he is, if you will, the grand old man of Danish gastronomi, and has been at the front of great nordic cuisine.

Additionally, he has been the mentor for many great Danish chefs, who now run their own acclaimed restaurants. In 2001 Lauterbach was declared “Best chef through 25 years”, and in 2006 “The chefs’ chef”. Lumskebugten is located at Toldboden close to the water, and there is every opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery on foot after the meal. The restaurant was renovated when Lauterbach took over, but the style is kept simple, charming, and delicate.
