Classic elegance in Frederiksberg 

Restaurant Frederiks Have is located on Virginiavej in Frederiksberg, in a historic building from 1883. Since 1995, it has been a place where guests come to dine well and feel at home — in calm surroundings with personal service and an atmosphere that makes your shoulders drop.

Owner Jonas Nikolajsen has worked in the restaurant over the years and knows both the kitchen, the guests, and the history behind Frederiks Have. When the opportunity arose to take over, it felt natural to carry the place forward with respect for its soul, traditions, and the warm spirit many associate with Frederiks Have.

With experience as former restaurant manager at Marv & Ben, the ambition is simple: classic, beautifully prepared, and thoroughly crafted.

 

Homely calm and beautifully prepared food 

The kitchen works with the best seasonal ingredients and classic techniques — often with French inspiration — but always rooted in Danish traditions and a clean, simple expression. The menu changes with the seasons, but the style remains the same: flavorful, carefully prepared, and something to look forward to. As a final touch, guests can also enjoy the restaurant’s cheese board with carefully selected cheeses.

The restaurant is divided into several rooms, so you can sit in the main dining room with views of the bar and open kitchen, or further inside in the peaceful Fireplace Room. In summer, the doors open onto the terrace, and all year round the atmosphere is relaxed — with plenty of time at the table. Frederiks Have has had a collective agreement in place since 2000, because quality and integrity go hand in hand.

Berlingske has awarded the restaurant 4 stars. Reviewer Svend Rasmussen highlights the “great service and intimate, cozy atmosphere” and writes that “the exemplary simplicity of the well-cooked food and the good taste makes this a place you happily return to.”
