Vietnamese roots on Vesterbro
Cholon is created by Lam Lê, who together with his family was among the first to introduce Vietnamese street food to Copenhagen with the iconic LêLê. Now he has returned to the neighborhood where it all began, in fact, just a few meters from the original LêLê.
Cholon is located on the corner of Vesterbrogade and Bagerstræde, right in the middle of some of the city’s best eateries and a vibrant, ever-moving urban scene.
An informal and inclusive place to dine
The name Cholon means “the big market,” referring to the famous market in Saigon’s Chinatown.
This idea shapes the restaurant: Cholon is like a market where everyone is welcome to stop by, share food, and experience the flavors together.
Creative freedom and signature dishes
The kitchen is rooted in Vietnamese cuisine but plays freely and creatively with Danish ingredients and modern techniques.
The sister restaurant Cholon on Vingårdsstræde has received 4 stars from Berlingske, where critic Søren Frank highlights the house signature, the “Cholon roll,” calling it “next level.”
